Thoughts and Musings from City of Refuge Church

2017: A New Beginning

How is your life going? Are you where you want to be? Are you who you want to be? Do you find yourself in a situation that you wish you were not in? Have you aspired to be what you thought you would be when you were younger? Where are you headed in life?

They say we only change when the pain of staying the same is worse than the pain of change. That may be true, but it is more complicated than that. Sometimes it is not easy to get out of a relationship, job, or lifestyle. We need help. We need community. Often, we literally need divine intervention.

Now is as good a time as ever to start anew. As the City of Refuge, we are a people that acknowledge we don’t have it all together. We need each other and we need help from outside ourselves. Initiating a new foundation is difficult to do alone. Join us as we create new community groups of a dozen or so people for weekly gatherings. They include sharing our struggles transparently, discussing stories and parables in the Bible, and having a meal together.

In the spring we will begin central meetings. It will be a time when you can listen to what God is saying through hearing and understanding the truth in the Bible. You can team with others in asking Him to make your life different. To change from within. It will provide moments of encouragement in the company of others that desire to make a change in their community.

How can we pray for you? We believe in the power of asking Jesus Christ to change us where we do not have the ability or courage. We would enjoy knowing how we can seek God on your behalf.

Do you feel that you are struggling alone? Do you feel stuck? Are you depressed? We want to help. This is a good year to set a new course for your life. Join us in making 2017 a catalyst for a new beginning.
